When people talk of resilience, Dr. Saad Saad knows exactly what it means. To become a top surgeon in the United States did not come easily. He was born in the 1940’s when the State of Israel was being firmed.

There were tussles between Israel and Palestine which ended up in his family being evicted from their home. They sought refuge in Kuwait. While in Kuwait, his father used to tell him about the importance of education. It was the only way through which they could get out of the quagmire they were in.

While still in Kuwait, Dr. Saad accompanied his brother to the construction fields he was working in. While there, Saad collapsed due to the excess heat. The Middle East is one of the hottest places on earth and temperatures can go very high for those who are not used. Following the deal, Saad realized that this would never be the best job for him.

He wanted to work in areas where the temperatures were controlled. After gathering information, he realized that the only place in Kuwait where he could work in such conditions was in the surgery room. From that point, he decided that he would become a pediatric surgeon. Learn more about Dr Saad Saad: https://www.healthgrades.com/physician/dr-saad-saad-ys6d8
